Designed for Florence Knolls request for “a chair that was like a basket full of pillows, something I could curl up in”, the Womb chair displays Eero Saarinen’s design flair for challenging rules.
Cushions filled with down over a foam core allow the sitter to be enveloped and enter a world of comfort, whilst being flawlessly supported by steel rod legs with a polished chrome finish. Providing a place with a relaxing sense of security, the chair gains its name from being designed around the theory that a great number of people have never really felt comfortable and secure since they left the womb and this chair.
