The architect firm Page/Park designed an iconic extension to Scottish Opera’s home, the Theatre Royal, with foyers that link to the auditorium creating an illuminated lantern structure and a dramatic central staircase that celebrates performance.

Moleta Munro were privileged to work with Alex Reedijk, General Director of Scottish Opera and Eilidh Henderson, Depute for Arts and Culture at Page/Park having won the furnishing contract for the extension. The brief was to bring flexibility to the space, allowing patrons to celebrate the historic auditorium and enjoy their experience at the Theatre Royal. Whether enjoying a glass of champagne on the modular Brunner Plot sofas during an interval, relaxing over lunch in the café, fitted out with Fritz Hansen Canteen Tables and Grand Prix chairs, or admiring theatre artefacts from the Offect Carry On stools – the furnishings adapt to the surroundings and provide a warmth of colour and comfort.
